Ryan Fife started climbing in California, but didn’t start climbing every day until Brimstone opened. He no longer climbs every day, (as it turns out, that’s not great for tendons), but he still makes an appearance at Brimstone most days of the week, and takes any opportunity to climb sport, trad or deep water solo outside. 

When he’s not at Brimstone, Ryan enjoys tabletop role playing games like Pathfinder and Dungeons & Dragons, looking for lakes without people, watching random tv shows and movies, and trying to learn how to kayak.

Ryan identifies as a communist, which means that he has an ever-expanding reading list of theory and history, believes that dialectical and historical materialism will lead to the liberation of all people, and admits that he ‘can be the most annoying person on the planet’. Feel free to ask him about the book he’s reading, because ‘it’s not his communist book, it’s our communist book’.
